TeraSignal has introduced an Analog Wave Processor (AWP) architecture designed to enable signal processing at 200G per lane for 1.6T and 3.2T AI interconnects.
Unlike conventional DSP-based approaches that operate on digitised samples, AWP performs weighting, delay and accumulation directly on broadband electrical waveforms. TeraSignal said this approach enables signal processing while retaining the low-power and low-latency characteristics of linear interconnects.
The technology supports wave-domain feed-forward equalisation, high-frequency impairment correction and reflection mitigation. TeraSignal said AWP can also provide equalisation beyond the Nyquist frequency to address channel impairments at higher data rates.
AWP is integrated into the company's Lotus 200G/lane platform, including the TS5802 copper redriver, TS8802 linear MZM driver and TS9802 linear TIA.
The technology is designed to work alongside TeraSignal's TSLink link-intelligence platform, which monitors channel conditions and enables adaptive compensation.
The combined architecture is intended for copper and optical interconnect applications, including active copper cables (ACC), linear pluggable optics (LPO), near-package optics (NPO) and co-packaged optics (CPO).
TeraSignal is demonstrating AWP and TSLink at ECOC 2026 in Málaga, Spain.
