Canon's sustainability efforts recognised with top 1% platinum rating from EcoVadis
Canon Inc. has announced that the company has been awarded the Platinum rating for the second consecutive year for its sustainability efforts by France-based global sustainability ratings organization EcoVadis. The award places Canon within the top 1% of companies assessed globally
Canon Inc. has received a Platinum rating from EcoVadis for the second consecutive year, placing it among the top-performing companies assessed globally.
EcoVadis evaluates organisations across Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement, with Canon achieving particularly strong results in the Environment and Labour and Human Rights categories.
Canon has committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3 throughout product life cycles by 2050.
The company has also set science-based targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative, aiming to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42 per cent and Scope 3 emissions in key categories by 25 per cent by 2030 compared to 2022 levels.
In addition, Canon has implemented a Group Human Rights Policy and conducts due diligence across its global operations and supply chain as sustainability performance becomes an increasingly important factor in procurement decisions worldwide.
